1.0  Introduction

1.1  Document Scope

This document describes how to perform the Cricket Calibration, and is intended for use by a Technical Person, trained to use the Pixellot CMS System.
The result of this document is that the Technical User will be able to set up the Cricket Calibration, and define "zoom in" regions of the Cricket Field. 
Also, at this stage, Cricket has only Fixed frame.



1.2  Prerequisites (what you need to get started): 

In order to perform Cricket Calibration, the following is needed:
  1. Access and proficiency of CMS system.
  2. Make a note of the Cricket System Name.   To find the Cricket System Name, use the System Name given during installation via Connect app or by last 5 digits of S\N printed on sticker on the VPU.
  3. Engineering Station App - Version 2.60 and above.   If you don't have this App, please contact Pixellot Support.
  4. The Engineering Station App requires MS Windows 8 and later.  It is recommended to use the latest version of Google Chrome browser.

2.0  Cricket Calibration Steps

    Steps for Cricket Calibration:

2.1  Enter CMS and Select the Relevant Cricket VPU

In CMS, select the INVENTORY menu on Left, and enter the relevant Cricket System Name in the Search Bar on upper right part of screen.
To find the Cricket System Name, use the System Name given during installation via Connect app or by last 5 digits of S\N printed on sticker on the VPU.

Then Click on VPU  icon.





2.2  VPU Manager:

2.2.1  Adjust Zoom and Color Settings:

Select  Head Setup menu on left side of screen.  

A.   Zoom Settings:
Click on the + - of Zoom, to adjust the Zoom setting of the field.  The entire playing section of the field, with a small margin, should be defined.
Zoom action will reset all calibrations settings.  If Zoom is adjusted, then calibration presents need to be redone. 
Only if Camera was installed upside down, adjust using the Rotate Camera setting.
B.  Color Adjustment:
Adjust and equalize the cameras' outputs to match the venue’s lighting.
Adjust the Brightness.
Warning - Do not adjust  - Gamma and Exposure.
It is required to keep the settings between 100-120.
Auto Light Control needs to be ON.





2.2.2  Remote Calibration (Playing Field Zoom Presets):

Click on CONFIGURATION menu item on left side of screen, and scroll down and click on REMOTE CALIBRATION.
Then the Engineering Station software will open.  This may take several minutes. If the Engineering Station hasn't opened after 10 minutes, close it and open it again.


2.3  Engineering Station

Click on SPORT TYPE on upper left side of screen.


2.3.1  Calibrate Entire Field:

Select CRICKET under Fixed Frame and LOAD.  



Use the mouse to adjust Zoom Presents, and mouse roller to set the window size.



When finished, click on APPROVE on upper left of screen, and click YES on approval popup.



Once the setting is updated to the VPU, the following message will appear:



2.3.2  Calibrate Left, Right and Center of Cricket Field:

To Calibrate Left, Right and Center zoom zones:
  1. Select Sport Type at upper left corner of screen
  2. Select the relevant Fixed Frame option: Left Side, Right Side or Center(Note:  This section needs to be repeated for each preset - Left Side, Right Side and Center).
Note:  Up to four Zoom settings can be defined for an event.

Note:  It is highly recommended to maintain 60% of the screen in each Calibration (Left, Right, Center), in order to maintain image quality.
  1. Click on Load.

Use the mouse to adjust Zoom Presents, and mouse roller to set the window size.

When finished, click on APPROVE on upper left of screen, and click YES on approval popup.



Once the setting is updated to the VPU, the following message will appear:



3.0  Usage During a Cricket Match:

During a game, use the Scoreboard to adjust the section of the Field to broadcast (ie. Full Field, Left, Right, Center).

  1. Enter CMS, and find your system in the CMS Inventory Tab.
  2. Go to Manual Scoreboard.
  3. During the game, manually press on the LEFT, CENTER, RIGHT, WIDE buttons from the Scoreboard, to set the video feed accordingly.
