1.2  What is SITE SURVEY ?

A SITE SURVEY is a critical step in the planning process/design of installing a Pixellot system.

The SITE SURVEY determines the following:

A. Camera (CHU) location

B. Computer (VPU) location

C. The route of the infrastructure conduit, connecting the Camera (CHU) and VPU

D. Survey Form on Website

2.0 Criteria for Installation (Camera / VPU / Infrastructure Conduit)

2.1  CAMERA (CHU):

A. The Midcourt and Courtlines need to be identified.

B. The Camera head will be installed on the Midcourt line.

C. The farther from the Courtline the Camera is installed, the Camera can deviate (right or left) from the Midcourt line, if necessary.

D. The Camera CANNOT be installed less than 3 meters from the Fieldline / Courtline and less than 3 meters height.  Do not install a Camera less than 3 meters from the Fieldline / Courtline.

E. The ratio of distance to height is 1:1.5.  For example, if the Camera will be installed 4 meters from the Fieldline / Courtline, then the camera must be installed at a height of at least 5.5 meters.

Note: In special circumstances, consult with the Customer Manager.

F. When determining the position of the camera, ensure nothing will obscure the Camera’s field of view.

G. If the Camera is installed in an open area, ensure that the Camera is installed with the sun behind the Camera, during game time, to prevent glare.

Note: If there are games during different times of the day or seasons, when there will be sun in the Camera’s field of vision, select a location where the total sun glare will be at a minimum.

2.2  VPU Location:

A. Select a location which is secure and closed, to place the VPU.

B. The VPU installation will be in a closed and secure area, in such a manner to prevent unauthorized access to the VPU.

C. The electrical connection for the VPU will be fixed and stable.

D. Quality output requires a stable Internet connection with a minimum upload of 5 Mb.

2.3  INFRASTRUCTURE CONDUIT:

The infrastructure conduit path, connecting the Camera with the VPU.

A. It is recommended that the conduit path (installation distance that includes the entire cable path) does not exceed 100 m from the camera, use CAT7 or CAT6a SSTP network cables.

B. If the conduit path is between 100 and 190 meters, range amplifiers (repeaters) can be used, with CAT7 / CAT6a network cables

C. If the conduit path is over 190 meters, an optical fiber will be used.
